Zach Jennings is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles who creates paintings, sculpture, rubbings, and special edition publications. He is also a musician, composing songs since the early ‘90s.
Zach’s career spans over 30 years and includes numerous artwork series ranging from large format PLEIN-AIR LANDSCAPES to graphic RADIAL paintings. Often working on several series at once, Zach develops concepts from the physical world through his methodical creative practices. The RADIALS series has been shown in various gallery shows, including ‘The Made Space’, in Freiburg, Germany, in 2016 and Patrick Painter’s group show, ‘Alhambra Dugout’ in Los Angeles in 2021.
Originally from Missouri, with a degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Zach’s art practice is a meditation on the hidden meaning just below the surface in the physical world.
Zach draws inspiration directly from his environment and seeks meaning imbedded in the natural world and in the common spaces we share. The art becomes a manifestation of presence. The grand format of his Plein-Air Landscapes, for example, bears physical witness to the creative moment and mirrors nature’s immense scale. The Plein-Air Landscape shown here was painted at Sea Ranch, California in 2021.
