Plein-Air Landscapes
With a nod to the early California Plein-Air painters of Southern California, Zach brings an unusual intensity to the genre with his long-running series of grand-format Plein-Air paintings.
Zach’s large scale landscape paintings are created in the moment to mirror the scale of his subject. Spanning up to 8 feet wide, these paintings serve as a meditation on place and time, often focusing on views which can often go unnoticed by passers-by. Utilizing fast-drying industrial enamels, most have been painted across California, from San Diego to Sea Ranch.
